In 1971 it took on a new form when the now-dilapidated building was taken over by the upstart Pleasurama Ltd, and their new vision brought Nero’s Nitespot to an unsuspecting audience. When The Beatles played there for three nights in 1963 as part of the She Loves You tour, people expected this venue to last forever. Nero’s was a hit, but not everyone in Southsea was happy.
